THE WAR ON DRUGS / DEAN & BRITTA (LUNA REUNION) / WORMBURNER

7-21-12 Mulcahy's, Wantagh NY

Luna's music was the soundtrack to our youth. After Tommy passed, we joked about having a benefit concert with a Luna reunion.  We never thought this would happen, but it did. Words can not describe how special this show was to us. Seeing all of Tommy's friends singing along with Dean Wareham is a memory I will never forget.

One of our current favorite bands, The War On Drugs, closed the night with an epic two hour set.  Frontman Adam Granduciel repeatedly referenced Tommy and cracked jokes throughout the night.  Our night ended much later at my house with a surprisingly competitive backyard basketball game involving The War On Drugs vs. The Tommy Brull Foundation. Two years later the band released their critically acclaimed album "Lost in a Dream" and became a favorite to a much larger audience. I have to say it was pretty satisfying to watch them play to a sold out crowd at Radio City Music Hall.

The band headlined the Tommy Brull Foundation's 2012 Shine a Light Music Festival at Mulcahy's in Wantagh on Saturday, July 21. Great benefit for Camp Anchor.
